Why Host a UNE intern
At the University of New England, we take pride in our talented and dedicated students, and we invite you to become a partner in their professional journey. UNE students are known for their strong work ethic, passion for learning, and eagerness to make a meaningful impact within organizations like yours.
When you host a UNE intern you gain access to a diverse pool of talent, fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a commitment to excellence and become a vital part of their growth and development. By offering an internship, you provide students with invaluable real-world experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to refine their skills in a professional setting. In return, you benefit from their unwavering dedication, their commitment to success, and the chance to shape the future leaders of your industry. It's a symbiotic relationship where both your organization and our students thrive, contributing to a brighter, more dynamic future.
Steps to Hosting a Student Intern
Interns may be hosted during any semester (Spring, Summer, or Fall), but must complete 40 contact hours with the host site during the internship period. Typically, internships vary from 3–12 credits (120–480 contact hours) per semester.
Internships may be part-time, full-time, seasonal, or continuing, and may be paid, unpaid, volunteering, or shadowing provided they conform to the credit requirements above.
